Traffic To Your Website | City Seeks Committee Volunteers

The Joint Cable Commission administers the cable communication franchise ordinance, in connection with a joint powers agreement among the cities of Bayport, Oak Park Heights, and Stillwater. There are 2 primary members and an opening for Stillwater's alternate member, appointed for two-year terms, and meet at 7 p.m. on the 3rd Wednesday of even months.

The Traffic Safety Review Committee reviews requests for modifications to traffic control signage, pedestrian safety, and traffic calming. This committee consists of 10 members, including two members from Engineering/Public Works, two from Police, and one from the Fire Department. The members serve three-year terms, and are limited to three consecutive terms. They meet at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month in Council Chambers, Room 213.

Citizen involvement improves the quality and responsiveness of public decision-making. Serving as a member of a board or commission offers an excellent opportunity to become actively involved in your city government.

The City of Stillwater welcomes its citizens to share their talents and perspectives by serving on an advisory board or commission. In exchange for your commitment of both time and effort, these committees influence the policies, actions and progress of our community.

Evaluation criteria include, but are not limited to personal and professional experience relating to the subject area of the board; knowledge of the community; knowledge of city government; and experience from similar appointments. Application deadline is May 18th.

Visit our website at www.ci.stillwater.mn.us for more information or call 430-8800. Applications are also available at the City Hall.
